Share an AR simulator in a video conference

Updated by Corine Barbazanges

There are several options for sharing the screen of your mobile device in a video conference. Here is what we think is the easiest way, regardless of your configuration.

Before your meeting

  1. Install the SENAR application on your mobile or tablet device. Then download the simulators that you want to share.
  2. On the same device, install the mobile application of the video conferencing software you usually use (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other). Log in.

The idea is then to join the conference from your computer AND from the mobile application.

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same video conferencing account.

If you are using Microsoft Teams

  1. Join the video conference from your computer.
  2. Open Teams on your mobile phone or tablet. You'll see a message at the top of your mobile screen with an option to join the meeting. Tap Join to add your phone as a companion device.
Bannière dans Teams
  1. Mute your companion device's mic and speaker to avoid causing an echo effect.
  2. When you're ready to share the AR simulator: in the meeting controls at the bottom of your mobile screen, select ... / Share / Share screen
  3. Select Start broadcast.
  4. Use the AR simulator normally. On your computer, you'll be able to see what you are sharing, just like everyone else in the meeting.
  5. When you're finished, tap Stop broadcast on your mobile or simply hang up. Your computer will still be connected to the meeting.

If you are using Zoom

  1. Join the video conference from your computer.
  2. Open Zoom on your mobile phone or tablet and join the conference (you will appear twice).
  3. Mute your mobile device's mic and speaker to avoid causing an echo effect.
  4. When you're ready to share the AR simulator: in the meeting controls at the bottom of your mobile screen, select Share Content > Screen > Start Broadcast
  5. Use the AR simulator normally. On your computer, you'll be able to see what you are sharing, just like everyone else in the meeting.
  6. When you're finished, tap Stop share on your mobile or simply hang up. Your computer will still be connected to the meeting.

If you are using another video conference solution

The procedure described above is similar for all video conferencing solutions.
