# Positioning and repositioning a simulator in AR

In AR, your device constantly recalculates the position of the simulator based on your movements in the real space. Its sensors must thus be able to recognize the environment at any given time.

We recommend that you take the necessary time to properly anchor the simulator in your environment, as poor anchoring may compromise the user experience, resulting in drift, out-of-proportion objects, or a simulator that is sunk in the ground or floating in the air.

## Dos and Don'ts

In order to get the most of your device sensors, we recommend positioning the simulators in an environment with variations in colors, patterns, or shapes.

You should avoid positioning a simulator:

* in a dark or very sunny place,
* facing a window,
* along a plain wall, with no recognizable elements,
* facing people who are moving around,
* on a monochromatic, shiny or reflective floor.

In this last case, placing a colorful mat or a simple post-it note on the floor will help anchor the simulator and prevent drift.

## Positioning a simulator

Move your device around, aiming it at recognizable items (furniture, window and door frames, decorative items, etc.). **Don't aim only at the floor.**

Once the virtual grid has covered the flat surfaces around you, place the white circle anywhere you like **on the virtual grid** and tap the blue check button.

## Repositioning a simulator

1. Tap the 4-direction arrow at the top left corner of the screen.

2. Tap in the center of the arrows and drag with your finger to move the simulator sideways or or back and forth.&#x20;
3. Tap and drag the white circular arrow to rotate the simulator.
4. Finally, tap the blue check button to confirm the new position.
